Our 2000 auction of orchid plants and related items was an excellent
success and a great time was held by all. There were many wonderful
plants and other items available, some at bargain prices and others available only to
the most serious bidders.
On October 27-29, 2000 we had a display at the Massachusetts
Orchid Society![[EXTERNAL]](../images/leave-site.gif)
annual orchid show. This was the second year that this show was held at Tower
Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA.
The June 10, 2000 meeting was also our annual picnic. This year we were invited to
Sawyer's
Exotic Greenhouse in Grafton, NH. A bus was available for those
who preferred not to drive.
We set up a display at the Deerfield Fair held from Sept. 28 to October 1,
2000. The best part of setting up our display was saved until we
were finished. Here we are enjoying the completed exhibit with a piece of
Jean's Apple Berry pie.
On June 17, 2000 we held our third "orchid caravan". Here is the group of participants at the first location we
visited. Members were welcomed to join us at the beginning and see all the
stops or meet us anywhere along the way.
On April 15, 2000 we chartered a bus to the Greater New
York Orchid Society Show at the World Financial Center Winter Garden in New
York, NY.
On April 8 and 9, 2000 we participated at the Amherst Orchid Society show in Hadley, MA.
We had a small display of 28 blooming orchids but won second place and a total
of 20 ribbons.
Our 2000 show, "Explosion of Orchids" was held on
March 31 - April 2.
We set up our display using two of the large artillery guns from
the NH State Armory where our show was held. Not the usual setting for an orchid
display.
We participated at the Cape & Islands Orchid Society
"Symphony of Orchids" in North Falmouth, Massachusetts on January 29 and 30, 2000.
