Betty Kelepecz: The Orchids of the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea
Betty has been growing orchids in Southern California since the early 80s. She grows her 1000 plus orchids, including many species, in a small greenhouse and a shade structure. She has received in more than 60 AOS awards, including the coveted 2010 AOS Carlyle A. Luer Pleurothallid Award.
Ron Kaufmann: Cattleya eldorado: Searching for Gold in the Brazilian Amazon
A marine biologist by training, Ron has grown orchids for more than 25 years. He has travelled extensively to view orchids in the wild in Asia and South America, particularly Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia. Ron has a long-standing interest in conservation.
Brenda Oviatt: Angraecoids: Conservation & Culture
Brenda Oviatt (graphic artist) and Bill Nerison (architect) began growing orchids in 1983 and evolved from a hobby into Botanica Ltd. The primary focus is upon ex-situ propagation of endangered angraecoids, and education concerning the plight of many species of plants and animals from Africa and Madagascar.
Ron Parsons: The Genus Dendrobium
Ron Parsons has been growing and photographing orchids for more than 45 years. He has more than 90,000 digital images, most of which are of orchids and more than 6,500 published photos. He and Mary Gerritsen have co-authored several books on botanical subjects including, a second edition of A Compendium of Miniature Orchid Species.
