Alex Maximiano, creator of OrchidWiz, the leading orchid database containing orchid species and hybrids, orchid photos, botanical prints, and an orchid journal, will give a brief overview of recent OrchidWiz updates. He will then explain how to use the Charles Baker culture data to aid in growing orchids in your location. In addition, Alex will introduce orchids.org, highlighting Stig Dalstrom, the "Wild Orchid Man" and his articles.
Alex was born in Portugal and came to the US at age 17. While looking for a gift on eBay, he came across an orchid flask and became fascinated with orchid hybridizing. Soon after, he designed software to research orchids, which eventually became the OrchidWiz Encyclopedia.
