Monthly Meeting - The Beauty and Diversity of Colombian Orchids with Andrea Neissen

Andrea Niessen of Orquideas del Valle in Cali, Colombia South America will be speaking on the Beauty and Diversity of Colombian Orchids. 

     

Andrea was born in Cali, Colombia to a German family. She earned a degree in Biology from the Univerversidad del Valle in Cali and a Master of Science with a major in Electron Microscopy and minor in Virology from the University of Florida. She has been a hobby orchid grower her entire life. With her husband Juan Carlos Uribe, she has maintained her own orchid nursery, Orquideas Del Valle, since 1989. It has now grown to include two retail shops, an online shop, two nurseries and a laboratory for seed flasking.


This will be an international meeting held on Zoom. The presentation will begin at 12 p.m. Please use the link in the January 2021 NHOS newsletter.


The Board meeting will begin at 9 a.m. followed by our show table at 11 a.m., lasting approximately one hour. To submit plants for the show table please send a picture of your plant in jpeg format  to Sue Usseglio at susan@nhorchids.org  one week before the meeting. Please include your name and level of expertise (Hobbyist, Advanced, or Expert), the name and type of the plant.
