How to Save and Grow Endangered Showy Lady’s Slipper Orchids in Your Garden. New Hampshire Academy of Science students will present their research on the conservation and restoration to the wild of endangered lady’s slippers of the Cypripedium Genus. They will present how people can get involved in registering to receive a box of showy lady’s Cypripedium reginae and how to establish a sanctuary on their own property. After the oral slide presentation, the students will show how they transplant their showy lady’s slipper seedlings from sterile culture into a box of soil. Basics of Orchid Care and Repotting We’ll focus on the importance of proper pot selection and using the correct growing media for your type of orchid or your particular growing conditions. Daryl will also talk about how to water, fertilize and care for your orchids.
